The modernization of streetcar tracks presented a challenge that required a new approach. The methods used to date for attaching inductive loop wires did not pass the test – they were exposed to damage by passing track vehicles. In practice, this meant more frequent failures, additional costs and traffic obstruction.
Task
The goal was to create a solution that is durable, safe and adapted to the realities of operating intensively used tracks. Streetcar infrastructure must operate reliably – any downtime or malfunction is a problem not only for the manager, but also for thousands of passengers using public transportation.
Solution
We opted for specially designed streetcar wells that provide:
- Effective protection of cables from mechanical damage,
- easy service access, which reduces the time of possible repairs,
- Resistance to weather conditions and intensive operating loads,
- long service life, which reduces infrastructure maintenance costs in real terms.
Effects
The use of new wells has made it possible to significantly improve the reliability of the operation of induction loops and reduce the risk of failure. This is an example of how a well-chosen engineering solution affects the daily operation of public transportation – increasing its safety, durability and comfort.
Tramway wells are just one example of how Innotechnika supports the modernization of modern infrastructure. Our products prove themselves wherever durability, functionality and safety matter.
